Living trust is a trust created during a person's lifetime and it helps to avoid probate, which is time and money consuming. Probate is a process of paying debts and distributing the property of the deceased person to the inheritors. After the death of the living trust maker a trustee, person who was appointed to handle the trust of the deceased, transfers the property ownership to the beneficiaries named in the living trust. When all the property is transferred the living trust is terminated.
